Captain Albert E. Humphrey was appointed Captain and Second-in-Command of the 2nd Divisional Cyclist Corps training at Exhibition Camp, Toronto, 1914-1915, before going overseas May 15th, 1915. He trained at Dibgate until September 15th, 1915, proceeding then to France with the 2nd Division. On formation of the Cyclist Battalion May 12th, 1916, he was appointed Adjutant, and December 10th, 1916, was promoted to Major and given command of the battalion.
