Driver John Humble, #329976, went overseas with the 43rd Battery, February 23rd, 1916,  and was attached to Brigade Headquarters Staff at Bramshott, later at Witley, with his number changed. He proceeded to France June 10th, 1916, transferring to the 44th Battery, C.F.A. which was broken up, and drafted into the 31st Battery, in March 1917. He received shrapnel wounds in the arm April 15th, 1917, and was admitted to the No. 1 Canadian Stationary Hospital, returning to the line seven weeks later. February 1st he was returned to England, and embarked for Canada March 6th, 1918, on furlough.
