He served in the RCNVR from 1940 to 1945 and served aboard HMCS Sioux as Ordnance Artificer, with the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  The son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Hubbell of Thamesville, ON.

P/O Glen Hubble was reported arriving in Thamesville from Prince Rupert, BC. to spend a week with his parents. CDN 18/07/42 It was reported in the CDN 29/12/42 that P/O. Hubbell was home from Vancouver, BC to spend “several days” with his parents.

Arrived home on a twenty eight day leave in August 1945. Glen served in D-Day operations and has three cruises to Russia to his credit. HMCS Sioux operated on convey duty facing storms that would often carry the ship sixty miles off course. Radar was vital in bringing the convoys back into order to give the escort ships a chance in wording off the ever present German U-Boats. CDN 27/08/45. CDN 7/09/45.
