Born in 1926 on a farm near Chatham, ON. the son of William Eldon and Hazel May Pritchard of R. R. #6 Chatham.

‘Jack’ enlisted in the army in January of 1945 joining the RCASC at Wosley Barracks in London, ON.,there is no indication that he served oversea, though it is indicated in the obituary in the CDN 7/01/14 that he was with the RCR.

In 1948 he married May Lou (nee Doyle) and began their family in a house that Jack built in Chatham, ON. and had the following children: John Patrick, Mary Lynn (Onslow), Michael Edward, and Jane Marie (MacMaster). The family moved to London, On. in 1959 where Jack attended London Teacher’s College and the University of Western Ontario. He joined the staff of Catholic Central High School where “Mr. Howe” taught Math and Geography as well as being the guidance councilor and a coach. He would also become a Vice Principal and finally Principle at that school. He was known as “Flat Top” by his student due to the brush cut he “proudly sported” from his time in the army.

A devouted duplicate bridge ‘Life Master’ and avid traveller with Hazel. John passed away 4 January, 2014 at home. Enternment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
