The following appeared in the 11 November, 2013 Remembrance day issue of the Chatham Daily News:
Just a young man of twenty two when his country called upon you
helped make this the land of the Free and Brave
Facing a silent pray to Gods blue sky
Take care of my wife and son
until I’ve finished and the battle is won
If I die before I come home
I know I will not die alone
Because many men will go with me
to make the Home of the Brave and Free.
