Private William Hope served with the 91st, as Private, later being made Lance Corporal. He transferred to the 186th Kent Battalion being promoted to Sergeant and qualified with honours in Musketry and Machine Gun courses at the School of Instruction, London. He went overseas the latter part of March 1917, being stationed at Bramshott Camp as Instructor.
