Son of Mr. and Mrs. Correll Hooker of Blenheim, ON., brother of  Wesley (A116560). Enlisted in October, 1942, trained at No. 12 BTC. in Chatham, ON. and joined the Tanks at Dundurn.

The CDN 19/04/43 Reported returning to Dundurn, SK. He had spent his furlough between Chatham and Blenheim with his wife.   

Five months later he had been sent overseas in CDN 12/01/44(P)

He served in the Italian campaign before being transferred to the Belgium front in 1945 as an ambulance driver. 

The CDN 1/06/45(P) reported that Wesley met his brother Lewis for the first time in two years while on leave in England.  Wesley had been in England for a year and a half.

He served in the North African, Sicily, Italian, Holland campaigns before being transferred to the Belgium front in 1945 as a ambulance driver also served in Holland as a Red Cross truck driver.  CDN9/05/45, CDN 1/06/45(P).

Reported returning from overseas duty on the Ile de France, expected to dock at Halifax NS., 1-2 October, 1945.

Lewis served in Africa, Sicily, Italy, Belgium and Holland as a Red Cross truck driver. CDN 1/06/45(P)
