Private S. J. Hood went overseas with the 186th Battalion, the latter part of March 1917, and crossed to France with the first draft. August 21st, 1917, he received a wound in the left hip, and was returned to England and admitted to No 2 War Hospital , Reading, Burkshire. He remained there until April 27th, 1918 when he was transferred to Liverpool to await passage to Canada. On arrival in Canada he was sent to hospital in London where he received further treatment until September 1918.
Discharged at London September 25th 1918 unfit for further military service due to wounds received on active service.
