Private Harry H.H. Holmes transferred from the 91st to the 186th Battalion in March 1916, and April 27th, 1916, to the 4th Canadian Pioneers, with which unit he went to England September 13th, 1916. In February he was admitted to Hospital in Hastings suffering from Bronchitis and while ill his unit crossed to France. He proceeded to France with a Y.M.C.A. draft May 28th, and was put on Base duty, being unfit for active duty.
