Transferred to #1 C.S.R.U. and went overseas Was wounded during the fighting in Italy. Later coasted to the Saskatchewan Light Infantry served in both Mediterranean and North West European Campaigns. While serving the Netherlands Bronze Cross for conspicuous gallantry.

Atthur received the Bronze Cross from Wilhelminia, Queen of the Nertherlands 8 December, 1945 as follows:
