Paratrooper Hill was reported on his way back to Shilo MB after a few days leave in Wallaceburg. WN 8/07/43

Thomas enlisted in London, ON. with the RCR and went overseas with that unit as a Bren gunner in England. Transferred the the 1^st Canadian Parachute Batt., training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He would later after three years overseas be a trainer at the 1^st Para training base at Camp Shio, Manitoba. WN 24/08/44
