Private George Higginson enlisted with the 70th Battalion in September 1915, going overseas a few months later. He proceeded to France with the first draft transferring to the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, No. 1 Company. He was wounded in the right shoulder and was sent to England to Hospital, he convalesced at Bramshott and returned to France March 1918, in August 1918 he received two slight bullet wounds but did not leave the Batt and was able to go up the lines a few days later. He went back to the P. P. L. I. and remained with them until he returned to Canada, March 18th,1919.
Discharged March 19th, 1919 due to demobilization.
