Enlisted at Chatham in 1940 joined the 43rd Parachute Bn. becoming one of the first three blacks in that unit. Shown in a CDN photo with fellow black enlistment Pte. Loyst William Kelly of Ingersol, ON. at a training base near Winnipeg, Manitoba. The article and photo did not have a date.

Discharged November 1945.
