It was shortly after that he was hospitalized First at the King Edward VIII Hospital Windsor, England 18/01/18 for Appendicitis. After surgery he was attached to a drain for six weeks Transferred to Beech Hill Hospital at Englefield 16/08/18
Hospitalized again at 9 Cdn. General Hospital – Kinnel Park 8/01/19 for a right Ventral Hernia, transferred to No.2 Cdn. General Hospital – Liverpool 28/05/19. After serving only in England he was classified “Medically unfit for general Service”.
Invalided to Canada 27/05/19. William was reported AWOL from 7:00 AM 16/08/19, 18/08/19 rejoined from being AWOl 19/08/19 docked 3days of pay. Was posted to “Casualty Coy. 21/10/19 and was discharged due to Demobilization 21/10/1919
