Private Heather went overseas with the Jan. 19, 1916 and proceeded to France Mar. 1, transferring to the 173rd Siege Battery, Imperial Army.

He was killed in action June 2, 1917 and buried in Bulby Commercial Cemetery Extension, west of Lens.
