Private John Henry Heath was promoted to Sergeant while training with the 186th, in Canada, going overseas in March 1917. After training at Bramshott he proceeded to France August 22nd, 1917, reverting to Private, and transferring to the 18th Battalion. At Passchendaele November 9th, 1917, he received a gunshot wound to the eye and was gassed, and admitted to Hospital in France. About January 1st, 1918, he was sent to Training School in France.
