Born in Sombra the eldest son of Charles Hazzard of Wallaceburg, where he grew up. The Wallaceburg News (date unknown) reported that his wife (nee Henry) and sons Charles and Jimmie were residing in the Hazzard Apartments in Wallaceburg. At the time he was serving in Holland.
Reported being welcomed back to Chatham from overseas duty by Aldermen George Kerr KC., A. G. Goodman and Bert Joyce also by Rehabilitation Officer William Foreman and Alex Copeland for the Civil Reception Committee along with hundreds of citizens. CDN 12/09/45. He would return to Wallaceburg on the same day.
The Wallaceburg News 20/03/41 reported that Pte. Hazzard was at Camp Borden serving in the Army.
