James served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II aboard HMCS Uganda. The WN 27/01/44 reported that James was at HMCS Stadacona FMO, Halifax, NS. He was reported aboard HMCS Uganda.

After the war James founded Hazzard’s Farm Service and other related business ventures. Active in the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Gideon’s International and Christian ministries in Canada and around the world.

James passed away 24 February, 2013 and internment at Riverside Cemetery, Wallaceburg, ON.
