Lieut. Pat Wilson
Chapter, I.O.D.E.
Dear Friends,
As the year draws to a close please accept my sincerest thanks and appreciation for the many kindnesses that you have shown during 1942.
Received your lovely Christmas parcel last week just in time for Christmas and words are unable to express just how much I appreciated it and your kind wishes of good will and happiness. I was delited and must pass a compliament now to the very good taste and care that was shown in the packing of same.
Yesterday I received cigarettes from your chapter, mailed in October. I imagine the receipt of same was slightly delayed due to the heavy volume of Christmas mail, but they certainly arrived at an opportune moment for me, for I was just fresh out.
Since last acknowledging any of your gifts, I have transferred from the Army to the Air Force. The change has been very enjoyable and interesting and now that I would willingly exchange the uniform of either service for ‘civies once again! – providing of course that this whole affair had been brought to a successful conclusion. Let’s hope that by Christmas 1943, that we shall all be reunited once more.
Please let me thank you once more for the magnificent work that your Chapter has been doing and please accept my heartfelt wishes that one and all may enjoy as happy and as prosperous New Year as humanly possible under the present conditions.
Sincerely,
George B. Hayes.
