Born in Ashington, England in 1913 or 1914. Married to Elizabeth M. they were living at 133 Elizabeth st., Chatham, ON.

George had served with the Kent Regt. Machine Gun since 1935. With the outbreak of war George enlisted with the Kent Regt 26/07/1940. While departing with the Regiment from the C.N.R. Station it was reported that he, along with Sgt. Jack Hyde, were crushed between a train car and the station platform and DOAI 11/01/1941, a double military funeral was held at Christ Church,enterment at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
