The son of Mrs. P. Ferguson of Raleigh Twsp, Kent Co., ON. Billy went to school in Chatham and conducted an orchestra in Chatham for some time.

While William was stationed at Debert, Nova Scotia he was given leave to return to Chatham where he spent time with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Harris on King Street West, Chatham, ON.

Pte. Harris was reported in the CDN 5/09/42 that he was home from Debert, NS. for a short furlough to visit his mother and aunt Mrs. Lou Harris.

It was reported in the CDN in October, 1942 that Pte. W. J. Harris had arrived overseas.

In Service four years and seven months, three and a half years of which were spent overseas.

Discharged May 1946.
