22/10/14 to April Unit sailed 18/04/15 aboard the Grampian departed from Halifax. . Taken on to 18th Bn. Can. Inf: to France, Theater of War 18/09/15. Embarked to France.
Wounded in left arm at St. Eloi, 1916 and right leg in 1917 at Passchendaele. Invalided to England to recover.
21/04/16 admitted to No. 4 General Hospital “ Camiers Neurasthenic. He was discharged 25/ 04/16 to the Conv. Camp. 9/06/16 at No. 3 GBD, 12/06/16 Able to rejoin his unit. There were other “Camp” illness such as Impetigo 3/01/18 to 10/01/17 and Scabies. While he was in combat he received a GSW to his Left Hand 15/06/18 to 10/09/18 from a bullet wound.
He found himself in Military Issues. He was contained awaiting trial from 29/05/18 to 18/07/18 a Field Convicted by F.G.C.M of when on Active Service “Absent Without Leave”. In that he overstayed his leave from mid-night 7/05/18 until being apprehended 1:30 pm, 29/0518. 21 day and 13 1/3 hrs.
Found guiltily and sentence Field Punishment (FP), No.1 (21 days) 13 ½ hrs. The sentence confirmed by Bde. Gen. R. Rennie remitted 30 days of FP 18/07/18 – forfeited 22 days WO. Pay.
He wound be wounded GSW 19/08/18 to his left arm.
He arrived from Liverpool to Quebec City 2/05/1919.
Married an English woman who he returned to Chatham with CDN 5/05/1919.
