Private Alfred Harding trained eleven months with the 186th Battalion at London, Camp Borden and Chatham and left for overseas March 26th 1917. He arrived in England April 25th, 1917, training at Bramshott until July 1st, 1917, when he proceeded to France with the 53rd Company, Canadian Forestry Corps. He served until February 1st, 1919, crossed to England, and embarked March 8th,1919, for Canada, arriving in Halifax March 18th, 1919
