Apr. 1915 Unit Sailed 18/04/15 from Halifax, NS. aboard the S.S. Grampian 18/04/15  with the First Contingent. Moore Barracks Hospital – Shorncliffe. 12/05/15 to 1/06/15. 14/09/15. 18/09/15 overseas 12/10/16 – Woodcote Park , Epson. Disembarked to FRANCE – Havre 14/09/15.  Fracture left Tibia leg near ankle. 18/09/15 arrived overseas.  29/09/16 to 13/02/17 discharge foot 16/03/17. The broken left leg would be an issue for some time. Healed fracture Tibia – Patient is very nervous and looks debilitated. (Tattoo of Maple Leaf and “18th . He had two vaccinations marks on left arm.     

“ Partial loss of function of left ankle joint 29 Sept. 1916 0n the Somme – fracture of Tibia. 

“In France 13 months well in Somme fell off a horse fracturing the Tibia, and went to Rouen 4 days, then to 1st West General Hosp. – 2 months, then to Epson. There was also marked elements of neurasthenia.” He went on to say: “There is much pain – Complained of the region of healed fracture of Tibia, Patient is very nervous and looks debilitated”.

Thrown from his horse at Albert – France, fractured of left leg 3” above the ankle 

Joined the 18TH BN. INF. 14/09/15. 11 Stat. Hosp. – Rouen 29/09/16 1st West Liverpool1/06/15. 4/10/16, – Epson 5/12/16 for Mumps.  Mumps 12/05/15 and came again 16/06/15. Employed as a Barman to a Chaplain 14/07/16 29/09/16. 12/10/16 at Woodcote Park – Epson,  

29/09/16 fell off horse , fracturing Tibia. Went to Rouen – too hot. Too much pain complained.  11 Stat. Leg (Ly) Tibia – transfer to England 3/10/16 HS. Canebrook – Trans 10/11/16.

Transferred to Special Services 9/01/18 to 25/06/18. Promoted to Sgt.  London 16/01/19 – Demob.

#2 ISS CO. 9/01/18  For 91 days.  Served: Canada, England, France and Belgium. Demob accordance R.C. Nos. 1328 and 1420. Age 26yrs. 9mos 15/01/19 at London, On. Can, Garrison Regt. – 29/04/18.
