The WN (date unknown) reported that Pte. Bill Hamilton then serving with the Essex Scottish had returned from overseas and was visiting his sister Mrs. S. Benedict of Whitebread, Kent Co., ON.
The Wallaceburg New reported that a farewell party was arranged by Bill’s sister Mrs. Robert Butterfield at her home. Bill was leaving for overseas with the Essex Scottish Regt. Besides the party he was given a “beautiful wrist watch”.
