The son of Oliver Hamilton of Becher, ON. The WN 15/09/40 Jack was one of seven Whitebread ‘Soldier Boys’ who had enlisted with the Kent Regt. in Chatham, age 20 years.. The Wallaceburg News 7/11/40 reported that Pte. Hamilton had married Jean Olive (nee Moreland) 2 Nov., 1940 at the Baptist Parsonage, Wallaceburg.
John served in the United Kingdom and Europe with the Highland light Infantry as a Driver/Mechanic. He was discharged 4 September, 1945 on demobilization.
John Donald passed away 22 November, 1997. The Legion Colour Guard was in attendance.
