Reference: RG150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 3946-16, Item number: 435622. Date of Birth 23/03/1874 at Highgate, Kent Co., ON. Son of Henry and Hannah Hall of Highgate, ON., brother of Velma and Ermma of Highgate. John was a single mason living at Marengo, SK. A member of the Methodist Church. Attestation: 1/06/1916 at Moose Jaw, SK., age 42 years, 3 months. 210th Battalion Overseas.

John was not sent overseas and was discharged “Medically Unfit – Class 1: 9 May, 1917 at Regina, SK. age 43 years 2 months.  

The 1901 census has a Mr. Hall living in Orford Twsp. with the same DOB. After his service to his country he returned to Ontario and was listed in Orford Twsp. in the 1921 census.
