Hike was from Wheatley, CMM [Chief Motor Mechanic] Haikala served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve during WW2.  After the war Hike opened up his own business at Wheatley harbour building boats of all sizes [example – Maids of the Mists for Niagara]. Hike Metal is still flourishing today.
