The son of Fred Grocott of Chatham, ON., the brother of George S. (RCAF) and Sidney Walter (overseas in Army. Next of kin listed as Mrs. B. Grocott, 152 Inches Ave., Chatham, ON. Married, his wife and daughter Sandra were living at 165 Gray St., Chatham when Cyril, who had been on furlough from the First Kents, had to return to his unit in New Westminister, BC. CDN 25/08/42.  

The CDN 8/04/43 reported that Signaller Grocott had arrived safely overseas. He transferred for overseas and the CDN 28/02/45 reported that he was still in England

Three years with Second Battalion Machine Gun and one year with Kent Regiment.

Reported arriving from overseas duty aboard the transport S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam, arriving at Halifax, NS. CDN 29/09/45.
