The son of Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Grant of Dover Twsp. His Mother Mrs Agnes Grant, Raleigh St., Chatham The husband of Marie (nee Goodfellow) of 19 Ellwood Avenue, Chatham.
Robert enlisted in July of 1942. It was reported in the CDN 15/09/42 that AC Grant was on leave from the Toronto Manning Pool to visit his family on Raleigh St., Chatham, ON. He also trained at the technical training school at St. Thomas, where he graduated as an instrument technician and Debert, NS. before leaving for two years overseas.
The CDN 2/03/43 reported that Robert had arrived home from the east coast on a furlough visit with his mother. The CDN 16/03/43 reported that LAC. Grant has returned to the east coast after a furlough in Chatham with his mother Agnes Grant and relatives.
Served in Canada one year. Went overseas and was stationed in Yorkshire, England. Was mentioned in dispatches. It was reported in the CDN 15/09/42 that AC Grant was on leave from the Toronto Manning Pool to visit his family on Raleigh St., Chatham, ON
The CDN 14/06/45 reported LAC Grant who had been serving overseas for the past two years had arrived in Halifax in a Lancaster bomber that he had crewed on over the Atlantic. He was in Dartmouth NS. in mid-June 1945. He expected to be home in a couple of weeks when the rest of the squadron, coming by ship arrived.
