Born 30/12/1921 in Tilbury, ON., the  son of Claude and Ruby (nee Wood) Gould of Merlin, ON. The brother of Dorine (Fisher), Dorothy (LaFleur), Raymond, Ruth and Robert Gould.

He enlisted in July at Windsor, ON., and did his basic trained at BTC No. 12, in Chatham, ON. He transferred to the 1st Canadian Tank Corp and went overseas in 1943 as a radio operator in the Corps. CDN 12/06/43 He served in Italy, Holland and Germany.

After the war he married Ruby (nee Torance) and they had four children:  Janice, Barbara, Marsha and Brian.

Russell passed away 20 March, 1983 and is buried in the Stewart Cemetery.
