Private Dudley Gordon trained in Toronto with the Canadian Cyclists Corps until April 1916, when he left for overseas, transferring to the 11th Brigade Trench Mortar Battery, he proceeded to France with his unit August 11th, 1916, serving until October 21st, 1916, when he received wounds at Regina Trench. He was granted a commission in the Infantry but transferred to the Royal Air Force, returning to France until the Armistice was signed, when he was placed on duty flying between England and Paris. Return to the C.E.F. June 20th, 1919, returned to Canada July 16th, 1919. Gazetted Lieutenant July 1st, 1917. Seconded to R.F.C. October 1st, 1919.
