The son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gonerman of Dresden. Born in Edmonton, AB. The family had been living in Dresden for fifteen years. Ralph was twenty-two years old when he enlisted 10 August, 1940 in the First Kents. He married in October of 1940 and was the father of a daughter. Ralph had been a band member in the Kent Regt. playing the clarinet.

After enlisting in the Kents, he transferred to the Elgin Regt. and proceed to the east coast. Once there he transferred againg to RCOC as a machinist, but still attached to the Elgin Regt. In the middle of September he was posted overseas and his wife received word a week before the end of September that he had arrived in England. CDN 30/09/42

Discharged October 20th, 1945.

Ralph passed away in January, 1955.
