Born 1/10/1925 in Goderich, ON. the son of W. J. and Marion Goldring and was living in Chatham at 71 Joseph St. when he enlisted in the RCAF 20 May, 1943.

The CDN 26/05/43 reported that AC2 Douglas had left Chatham for the RCAF Manning Pool at Lachine, PQ.

Doug trained at  Lachine PQ., Toronto,  Guelph and Fingal, ON. Lachine PQ., and graduated as a Wireless Air Gunner.  It was Fingal that he received his “Wings”, graduated as a Wireless Air Gunner.   The CDN 10/04/44 reported that Douglas was spending a Easter weekend leave with his mother in Chatham.   He departed for overseas in September of 1944 serving in England and Scotland.

Sgt. Goldring was discharged from the RCAF 16/03/1946.
