Private Homer Giroux went to London, Ontario in 1913 as a Boy Scout.
Private Homer Giroux trained at Valcartier for two months when he went overseas crossing in to France attached to the 11th Battalion, at the battle of Ypres he was wounded in the right arm, left arm, had his nose broken and was gassed. He was admitted to Hospital in England returning to duty two months later in charge of baggage detail in England where he served eleven months. He then proceeded to France.
