The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Girard of Windsor, the brother of Clarence and Nornam. Pte. Girard grew up in Erieau with his wife Mary (McKishnie) they living in Chatham. It was reported in the CDN 15/01/45, that Pte. Girard along with a Canadian comrade captured seventy-eight German soldiers on the western front. BFL-B, MVL.

Pte Girard along with another Canadian soldier were reported to have captured seventy-eight Germans on the western front. CDN 15/12/44(P).
