Private Bud P. Gipson went overseas with the First Division of the Mechanical Transports, January 21st, 1916, training at Salisbury Plains, and later at Grove Park where he passed all the tests for heavy lorries, etc. and was attached to section #2, ammunition and supplies for the Howitzer Battery. He crossed to France the latter part of February with the Mechanical Transport Section of the A.M.C. where he served for one year and then was promoted to Corporal. He was then transferred to #7 Workshop, N. Siege Park, attached to 13th Corps where he remained until November 1917. He then transferred to the 1st usie K Siege Park where he remained until September 1918 when he got leave for Canada.

During his service Private Gipson was wounded in the left arm and side but remained on duty.
