The son of Mrs. John Gillman, and the late Mr. Gillman of 37 St. George St., Chatham. It was reported that Harry had arrived safely overseas according to a cable received by his wife. The Cpl. had enlisted with the first Kents when they first organized. He was sent overseas as infantry reinforcements. CDN 19/06/43(P)

Served with the Kent Regiment N.P.A.M.
Served in Canada for a time. Transferred to an Infantry reinforcement Unit and went overseas. Was attached to the Royal Canadian Engineers, and spent 2 1/2 years in France, Holland and Germany.
Discharged October 1945.
