Remained in Canada for thirty-two months before going overseas in January 1943. Transferred to the Highland light Infantry of Canada and served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Took part in the battle of Buron, D-Day landing in Normandy, Bologne Pocket, Scheldt Pocket and the crossing of the Rhine. He received the C.V.S. Defence of Britain, the France and Germany Star, also the 1939 to 1945 Star. Was wounded in Belgium, and hospitalized with a shattered elbow.
Discharged December 7th, 1945.
