Garen Keith Fraser

 

The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Garen of Patteson Avenue, Chatham.  Next of kin reported as Mrs. K. F. Garen (wife), 104 Harvey St., Chatham, ON. Brother of AC2 Donald Patrick, Sgt. John Rennie and Lieut. Leslie Wilson. Before his enlistment he was in the office of the McGarvin Transportation  Co.

Served with the 2nd. Kents. Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment, (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). With service number A470373 and rank of Sgt.

Transferring from the Kent Regt. to the Manitoba Armoured Car Regiment, he arrived overseas in September of 1942. CDN 10/09/42

Served in Canada until August 1942. Went overseas and served in England, France, Holland and Germany. Promoted to the rank of Captain. Served with the permanent court martial board in Germany.

The CDN 17/02/44 reported that Captain Garen had received hi majority (Major). At the time he had been in England for nearly two years. He had been acting as Adjutant of the !8th Manitoba Armoured Car Regt.

Reported returning from overseas duty on the Ile de France, expected to dock at Halifax NS., 1-2 October, 1945. CDN 29/09/45.

 

Discharged November 9th, 1945.
