Born in Tilbury, (Merlin) 0N. 17/03/1906. Next of Kin:  Verlyn; Garner, Colborne Street.  Charles enlisted 5 June, 1941 at Timmins, ON. He trained at Camp Petewawa before going overseas, serving in the UK.  He was discharged 5 October, 1945 age 29 yrs. 6 mths..

Gardner Charles EdgarHusband of Leda Verlyn (nee Cofell). Father of John Victor, Charles Louis, Betty (Mrs. D. Arnold), Barbara Eleanor (Hackett) and Donna Jean. Brother of Mrs. Ella Broom of Tilbury. Living at 11 Park Ave. West, Chatham, ON. The family lived on Colborne St., in Chatham in the 1920’s but while Charles was overseas his wife undertook the task of building a home on 11 Park Ave., West in Chatham, both house a brick house on Colborne next to the railroad track and the Park Ave. house were still standing in 2012.

Charles age 83, passed away at the Public General Hospital, Chatham, ON. 28 November, 1989.
