Born in Chatham, ON. Trained at the Great Lakes Ill. Shipped to Shoemaker Cal. and from there was shipped to New Caledonia. Sent to Guadalcanal and there joined a motor torpedo boat squadron (11) Took part in the invasion of Bougainville where six Japanese Planes, one destroyer and twenty three Japanese troop barges were destroyed. Troop part in the invasion of Emiran Island from there patrolled New Ireland, New Britain and part of New Guiania. From there the squadron was ordered to the Philippines where it took part in the invasion of Luzon and Manilla. From there the squadron was sent to Borneo for that invasion. Returned to the United States and was stationed at Boston, Melville R. I. and again at the Great Lakes.
Discharged May 1945.
