Went overseas in 1940, returned to Canada in 1942 and took a special course at Halifax, Nova Scotia. Transferred to a minesweeper on patrol duty. Later was on patrol duty in Halifax harbour.

The CDN 26/07/44 reported that Lloyd had arrived from the east coast to spend a furlough with his mother Mrs. Edward J. and Jane Gambriel of Lorne Ave., Chatham. The brother of Richard (RCE), Harry C. (RCE) and Lloyd (RCNVR).

Discharged October 18th, 1945.
