Trained in Canada. Went overseas July 1941 and was in England until September 1943. Was sent to Sicily and Italy and was in battle at Cassina. Transferred to France and then to Holland, Belgium and Germany. Fought in the battle at Arnham.
The CDN 8/07/44(P) reported that Sapper Gallerno who trained at London, ON. and Camp Petawawa and ha been serving overseas for three years. Had married and Irish girl while in England. He had been serving in the RCE in Italy since Christmas 1943.
Returning from overseas duty aboard HMT “Scythia” expected to dock at Quebec City 16 September, 1945. CDN 14/09/45. IODE(P). Reported in the Legion Magazine’s Last Post and deceased as 29 May, 1993
Discharged October 31st, 1945.
