Private Glen R. Gage went overseas July 1st, 1916, with the Canadian Mounted Rifles, training at Bramshott Camp, and coast guarding until April 1917, when proceeded to France. He received 27 shrapnel wounds August 6th, 1917, at Lens, one wound in the right hand and one in the right knee,being severe. He was admitted to Base Hospital, France, and one week later transferred to Epsom Hospital, England, until October 1917, when he took a course in B.F .and P.T. and was made an instructor at Seaford with the rank of Corporal.
