Douglas was born in Wheatley.  He was the son of Roy Earle Furey.  Douglas was the brother of Hamilton and Kathleen Furey.

Stationed at Halifax, NS. The CDN 29/10/43 reported he was on 15 day furlough at Wheatley for a couple of weeks.  HMCS Venture was at Halifax, NS.

Doug along with Clair Paine a Signaler, left Windsor for Halifax last week.
