Started training as bomber Pilot at Rockcliffe but due to illness was unable to complete this course. Then trained as Bombardier getting his wings at Crumlin. Sent to Dafoe Saskatchewan, as an instructor with the rank of F/O Later went to Edmonton where he trained for overseas command work but the war ended and was placed on reserve list.
