Private French joined the 5th Division of the PPCLI in Mar. 1916 sailing the same month for overseas.
After three or four months training in England he proceeded to France.
He was wounded in Jan. 1917, and after three months Hospital treatment was returned to the trenches.
He was sent to Belgium in Oct. 1917 where he was killed in action Oct. 30 after having been promoted to Corporal.
