The son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Freeman of Forest St., Chatham. The CDN 19/02/44 reported that seaman Freeman wedded Helen Irene (nee Drewery) at Holy Trinity Church. The couple would spend a few days in Windsor, ON before Alexander had to return to the east coast and his bride returned to her home in the city “for the duration”

Served as a signaller on the Mayflower and made continuous trips overseas.

Discharged May 1945.
