The third son of Ernest A. and Gertrude (nee Hunt) Franklin of 315 Murray St., Wallaceburg, ON. The brother of Ivan, Danny Arthur ( Essex Scottish who DOAI 1942), Clarence, Flossie, Howard, James, Agnes, Charles Franklin (Essex Scottish) and Doris.

The WN 15/04/43 that he had arrived in England. He had enlisted in the st Kents but had transferred to the Essex Scottish making the third Franklin serving in the Essex Scottish.
